Animals have been grazing wet areas, ditches, ponds
HIGH RISK!
Wet boggy areas of pastures are potential snail habitats. Where these areas have been grazed previously by infected livestock there is potential for the lifecycle to be completed and for infective metacercariae to be present on pasture. Fluke may survive on pastures overwinter either as eggs or in infected snails, meaning pastures grazed by livestock the previous season can still be infective. Pastures grazed previously by sheep should be considered at risk for cattle and vice versa
